History

2008

Swan Energy Limited (SEL) prepares a Detailed project Report (DPR) and evaluates options for finalising the ideal Site location.

2010

A large Multinational Shipping giant Teekay Corporation (Teekay) joins the LNG port terminal project and partners with SEL through a Joint Development Agreement.

2011

Government of Gujarat announces New LNG terminal Policy under which it would provide necessary support for development of a dedicated LNG Terminals.

2012

Under the New LNG Terminal policy, Swan Energy Limited submits a detailed proposal to the Government of Gujarat and receives the requisite approvals for developing an LNG port Terminal project with FSRU in Jafrabad, Amreli District, Gujarat.

2013

SEL makes presentation to the Environment committee for undertaking the said project and receives a final environmental clearance from the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MOEF).

SEL also receives Letter of Intent (LOI) award from Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) granting permission to develop the project in Jafrabad, Gujarat.

2014

SEL issues tenders to EPC contractors to execute the project and is in final negotiations to award the work.

The project has received In Principle sanctions from leading banks for financing the project.

2018

The project will become fully operational and ready to provide uninterrupted and safe LNG regassification services.
